Intensive EMDR

Sometimes the traditional model of weekly sessions just doesn’t work for your schedule and timeline. Fortunately, EMDR therapy is not limited to the traditional format. Intensive EMDR can be as effective as weekly therapy – in a whole lot less time.

Intensive EMDR therapy typically involves longer length sessions (2 – 3 hours) over a shorter period of days or weeks.

Intensive EMDR therapy might be right for you if:

  • You want to change on a deeper level, and you’re not quite getting to the root of the issue with your current therapist. Maybe you are making good progress in most areas, but there’s this one thing that would be amazing to be able to finally deal with, so you’re curious about how Intensive EMDR therapy can help.

  • You’re busy! You’ve been thinking about going to weekly therapy for a while now, but the idea of having to take up time every week and plod through the issues makes you exhausted just thinking about it.

  • You don’t want to wait to feel better. You’re ready to deal with “it” – whatever “it” is – and you don’t want to spend months in the traditional weekly model before you can move on. You’re so over it already!

Your EMDR Intensive includes:

  • One pre-consultation interview to assess for candidacy, gain insight, and identify obstacles. We will also target unpleasant beliefs, body sensations, emotions, or images from which you are seeking relief.

  • Personalized treatment workbook, which allows you to work on your treatment goals before, during, and after our EMDR Intensive sessions.

  • A customized treatment program with targeted treatment goals. Sessions will be done virtually, typically for 2 to 3 hours each appointment.

  • One post-treatment interview to assess and support your adaption to positive changes from treatment.
